In our talk, we’ll explore how to integrate the OpenAI API with Silverstripe to automate the translation of content across multiple languages. As multilingual content becomes increasingly important, the manual process of translating and managing content in different languages can be cumbersome and prone to inconsistencies. This session will demonstrate how AI can be leveraged to streamline this process. We'll begin by discussing the technical steps involved in integrating the OpenAI API with Silverstrip. You’ll see how this setup can significantly reduce the time and effort required to manage multilingual content, ensuring consistency and efficiency. Next, we’ll introduce the custom interface we've developed for previewing and editing AI-generated translations. This interface allows content managers to compare translations with the original tex, making it easy to spot inaccuracies or make adjustments before publishing. We’ll cover the technical aspects of building this interface, including how it interacts with the Silverstripe and the challenges we encountered around translation accuracy and context handling. A live demonstration will be provided to illustrate how the system works in practice, focusing on key features like the side-by-side comparison tool, editing options, and the streamlined publishing process. We’ll also discuss performance considerations and how to optimize the integration for different use cases.
